The round of 16 has arrived in Toronto and Montreal, and with it comes the start of our live coverage of the Canadian Open, which will continue until the final. On a fascinating day, world number one Aryna Sabalenka takes to the court overnight, whilst a clash between two rising stars - Jiri Lehecka and Rafael Jodar - headlines the men's action.

16:30 CET - Good afternoon and welcome to the coverage of the 1000 events taking place in Montreal and Toronto, with the round of 16 getting underway this evening from 18:30 CET. First up in Toronto is a heavyweight clash between world number 11 Marta Kostyuk and world number eight Iga Swiatek, before a meeting between Jessica Pegula and Diana Shnaider follows.

Kostyuk made light work of what should have been a tricky match against Madison Keys in the last round and will fancy her chances against Swiatek, who is playing her first tournament since her underwhelming third-round exit at Wimbledon.

In Montreal, meanwhile, the first match of the day sees Portugal's Nuno Borges come up against Italy's Luciano Darderi in a difficult-to-call clash. Borges has had to play an extra match to get this far but has been playing the better tennis, as Darderi was forced into a comeback win in the last round after losing the first set.

Overnight, the headline clash sees Jiri Lehecka against Rafael Jodar as two of the game's biggest prospects go head-to-head. Jodar has been in incredible form in 2026, and is coming off the back of outclassing Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.
