Denmark will be severely handicapped by the absence of Jonas Rondbjerg from Vegas Golden Nights as he sustained a lower-body injury in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks

General Manager of the Danish national ice hockey team, Morten Green, has confirmed the sad news to TV 2 Sport ahead of the national team's first training session in Milan.

"Unfortunately, he is not coming. He suffered an injury a few days ago and will not be in action for the next few weeks, which is why he is unfortunately also out of the Olympics."

"It's a big blow. Jonas is incredibly talented and means a lot to our team. He's playing in the NHL, and he's had an incredibly good season. He contributes with speed. We are very sad that he cannot come", says Morten Green.

Rondbjerg had a key role in the World Championships in 2025, where Denmark surprised took the world by surprise by beating Canada in the quarter-final.
