It’s the start of another busy week on the tennis calendar, with tournaments in Barcelona, Munich, Stuttgart and Rouen all getting underway today.

23:59 CET - A late finish in Stuttgart has seen Diana Shnaider take a comeback victory over compatriot Veronika Kudermetova by a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

22:47 CET - A big shock late into the evening in Rouen, where fourth seed McCartney Kessler has been knocked out. Her vanquisher was French qualifier Fiona Ferro, who downed her opponent 6-7(10), 6-2, 7-5 to cause the upset.

21:20 CET - Our penultimate game of the day in Stuttgart has come to an end with Anastasia Potapova picking up the win over Clara Tauson, beating the Dane 2-6, 7-6(8), 6-3.

20:23 CET - Andrey Rublev is through to the next round in Barcelona thanks to a comfortable 6-1, 6-3 victory over Dutch qualifier Jasper de Jong

19:39 CET - Meanwhile, our final game in Munich for the day has come to a close as homegrown wildcard Daniel Altmaier is through to the next round. The world number 68 needed two tie-breaks to dispatch Taiwan's Chun Hsin Tseng 7-6(5), 7-6(5).

19:29 CET - Back to Rouen, where Gabriela Ruse is through to the next round, needing three sets to see off French wildcard Elsa Jacquemot. The Belgian won the contest 1-6, 6-1, 6-4

18:57 CET - Top seed and two-time Munich champion Alexander Zverev has secured a morale-boosting victory on home soil, sweeping aside Alexandre Muller in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.

Over in Barcelona, Holger Rune is safely through to the next round after a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 triumph over wildcard Albert Ramos-Vinolas.

18:08 CET - Elise Mertens is the first winner of the day at the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart, with the Belgian battling through a tight opening set to defeat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 7-6(3), 6-2.

17:42 CET - Another bit of underdog success in Catalonia as qualifier Hamad Medjedovic is through to the next round, after beating France's Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-5, 7-6(6).

16:45 CET - Back to Barcelona, where lucky loser Jacob Fearnley has taken the opportunity with both hands, beating Spain's Roberto Carbellas Baena in straight sets 6-1, 7-5.

Elsewhere, Munich's second seed Ben Shelton has survived a major scare against Croatian qualifier Borna Gojo, saving match points before winning their contest 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(3).

16:37 CET - Over to Rouen, where favourite Anhelina Kalinina has lived up to her billing, seeing off Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino 6-0, 6-4.

15:46 CET - Sebastian Korda is the latest man through in Barcelona, with the American recovering from a set down to defeat Matteo Arnaldi 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Meanwhile, in Rouen, French qualifier Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah has produced a big upset, beating seventh seed Lucia Bronzetti in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

15:10 CET - David Goffin has finally got the better of lucky loser Billy Harris in Munich, needing seven match points to get past the Brit.

The Belgian won their tussle 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-4 to advance into the next round.

14:37 CET - Over in Barcelona, home favourite Pedro Martinez has progressed after a gruelling 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 triumph over Brandon Nakashima in three hours and 18 minutes.

14:12 CET - Miomir Kecmanovic is the next man through in Munich, with the Serb battling past Marcos Giron 6-2, 6-7(2), 7-6(9) in a thrilling match that lasted just under three hours.

12:21 CET - We have our first result of the day from Munich where Tallon Griekspoor has seen off qualifier Learner Tien in straight sets. The Dutchman won the contest 6-4, 6-2 in 72 minutes.

09:09 CET - We've got plenty to look forward to today, as top seed Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton begin their campaigns in Munich, while Andrey Rublev, Diana Shnaider and Holger Rune take to the court elsewhere in Europe.

First up at 11:00 CET, Brandon Nakashima faces home favourite Pedro Martinez in Barcelona and Tallon Griekspoor comes up against rising star Learner Tien in Munich.
