19:48 CET - Alexander Zverev is finally a Grand Slam champion, with the German coming through a five-set thriller against Flavio Cobolli to prevail 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 and capture a long-awaited major title.
After a career of several near misses on the biggest stage, the 29-year-old held his nerve in a rollercoaster battle, regrouping in the fifth set to dispatch his Italian opponent in four hours and 19 minutes.

It wasn't pretty at times for Zverev, who looked to be feeling the pressure throughout, but the second seed held it together in the key moments in the deciding set, saving all four break points on his serve, while winning 70% of points behind his own delivery, to secure a career-defining triumph.
18:59 CET - We're heading to a deciding set on Court Philippe-Chatrier, with Flavio Cobolli roaring back from the disappointment of losing the third set to edge a topsy-turvy fourth 7-6(5) against Alexander Zverev.
Cobolli and Zverev were far from their best throughout the set, with some really sloppy errors punctuating both players' games, but the Italian just about held his nerve, prevailing after an epic 75 minutes.

17:49 CET - A massive third set for second seed Alexander Zverev, who is closing in on a maiden Grand Slam title!
There was nothing to separate the two players after a high-quality first nine games, but Flavio Cobolli imploded when serving to stay in the set, hitting several unforced errors from 30-0 up to hand Zverev a crucial advantage.

16:58 CET - Flavio Cobolli is back level! After a nervy, error-strewn start, the Italian has certainly settled into the final now, taking the second set against Alexander Zverev 6-4.
Winning 80% of points behind his first delivery, Cobolli found the all-important breakthrough in the seventh game, to finally stamp his authority on proceedings.
The third set feels hugely significant for both players now...
16:03 CET - Heavy favourite Alexander Zverev has made a dream start in Paris, with the German taking the opening set 6-1 against Flavio Cobolli in just 35 minutes!
Zverev set the tone with an impressive break in Cobolli's opening service game, and he never looked back, securing two further breaks while the Italian unravelled with 16 unforced errors.

14:22 CET - This will be the third time that Zverev and Cobolli have faced off this year, with their two previous clashes also coming in this clay-court season.
Cobolli beat Zverev in the German's own backyard back in April, winning in straight sets in the Munich semi-finals, but Zverev then got revenge in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open.
They also met at last year's French Open, where Zverev claimed a dominant straight-sets win.
12:50 CET - Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend have won the women's doubles titles with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic.
It's the third Grand Slam title that they've won as a pair and the fourth women's doubles crown that Siniakova has claimed at Roland Garros, as well as the 11th major she's won in the format.
12:16 CET - With just under three hours to go, let's take a look at how today's finalists got here.
Zverev was on the stronger half of the draw, but made his way through it in convincing fashion, seeing off young talents Rafael Jodar and Jakub Mensik without too much trouble.
He's dropped just two sets in total, very much living up to his billing as favourite following the exits of Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
Cobolli too has managed to avoid playing any five-setters and has also dropped just two sets on his way to a first Grand Slam final. He has spent fewer hours on court than Zverev, not having to play a semi-final due to Matteo Arnaldi's withdrawal.
That could mean the Italian has more in the tank than the German today, but it could also have disrupted his rhythm, given that he hasn't played in four days now.

The bookmakers and experts will have Zverev as the firm favourite, but Cobolli is coming into the match extremely fresh having had a walkover semi-final, and with nothing to lose. In other words, all the pressure is on Zverev to break his career-long Grand Slam curse.
