The Netherlands lost 5-4 on penalties after drawing 3-3 to Spain after regular and extra time.
The defeat means 'Oranje' have been drawn to Group G of the World Cup qualifiers. Therefore, Poland, Finland, Lithuania, and Malta will be the Netherlands' opponents during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying cycle in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The three-time World Cup finalists will kick off their qualifying campaign on June 7th with a game against Finland in the Finnish capital of Helsinki. Malta will visit the Netherlands three days later, after which Poland will do the same on September 4th. Following this meeting, The Netherlands will play away games in Lithuania on September 7th and in Malta on October 9th.
Finland will visit the Netherlands on October 12th before 'Oranje' round off their qualifying campaign with an away game in Poland on November 14th and a home game against Lithuania on November 17th.
Spain to meet Türkiye
As the winners of Sunday's quarter-final, Spain will meet Turkey, Bulgaria, and Georgia in Group E of the World Cup qualifiers.
The reigning European champions will start their qualifying cycle with an away game in Bulgaria on September 4th before visiting Türkiye on September 7th. Spain will host their first qualifiers on October 11th and 14th when Georgia and Bulgaria come to visit the Iberian peninsula.

'La Roja' will end their qualifying campaign with an away game in Georgia on November 15th and a home game against Turkey on November 18th - the final day of the European qualifiers.
Twelve group winners will qualify for the World Cup. The twelve runners-up will battle for the final four World Cup tickets with four unknown teams from the UEFA Nations League.
