Instead, club icon Steffen Kielstrup takes the coaching responsibility together with Johnny Mølby in the spring season.
The club announced this in a press release on Sunday morning.
It is the second time this season that Vejle Boldklub sack its head coach. Ivan Prelec began this season as their head coach but was fired in September and replaced by Mihai Teja.
The 46-year-old Romanian was in charge for eight games as head coach in Vejle. Vejle, who occupies last place in the 3F Superligaen, won just once during his time at the club.
The dismissal of Mihai Teja comes on the back of Vejle firing sporting director Marius Adrian Nicolae last week with three days left of the transfer window.
Club director Henrik Tønder, who has temporarily taken over the role of Sports Director, says the change of coach was necessary, even if it probably takes many experts by surprise.
"I believe that we as a club both in the short and long term are better prepared for the future with this decision", says Henrik Tønder to the club's website.
"I take full responsibility for this decision. I don't want to continue with a set-up that I don't trust, just because it's a decision that could cause unrest outside the club."
Before the restart Vejle are in last place in the Danish Superliga with a modest six points for 17 games. The team restarts the season next Sunday with an away game in Silkeborg.
