In the match against Sporting CP on Wednesday evening, the national team player was hit by a crotch injury, which subsequently required a minor operation, which will keep the full-back out of action in the coming weeks.
During Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final, Marinus Munk was accidentally hit in the crotch in a defensive action.
Munk completed the match, but later had to undergo a minor surgical procedure on Friday.
The operation went according to plan, but the injury will keep Munk on the sidelines for the upcoming weeks, just as the full-back has signed off for next week's test matches, which naturally upsets team manager Martin Larsen.
"First of all, we are obviously sorry on Marinus's behalf. He has fought all season tirelessly and, like the rest of us, has been looking forward to the decisive matches in the domestic league, just as two exciting international matches were waiting for him in the coming week, which he will miss now. Fortunately, the injury is not serious and does not require rehabilitation, so for now, Marinus just needs to focus on making a full recovery", says Martin Larsen.
Aalborg Handbold will face GOG at home in the Sparekassen Danmark Arena on Sunday at 16.00 CET.
