Coach of FC Midtjylland, Thomas Thomasberg, has dived into a war of words with FC Copenhagens coach, Jacob Neestrup following yesterdays clash at the top of the Danish Superliga which Neestrup's men won 1-0

After the game Neestrup, who watched the game from the stands following his suspension, accused Mads Bech Sørensen of cheating every time the Midtjylland team had to take a long throw-in.

"They only had chances to score in the second half from set pieces, where – and now I'm saying something controversial – I think that they are given some opportunities that shouldn't be allowed. When they have throw-ins 40 metres from goal, they convert them into being 28 to 30 meters from goal so that they can throw the ball into the box. That is why it is so important that the referees keep an eye on where the ball goes out for a throw-in", said Neestrup to Viaplay after the game.

But FC Midtjylland coach Thomas Thomasberg completely denies the allegations that his team are cheating.

"I don't understand why Jacob Neestrup needs to say that we are cheating. Perhaps he fears us and I understand that he is interested in influencing the referees in future matches between us". I myself can say many emotional things after a football match, but I would feel bad about being caught in a lie", says Thomas Thomasberg to TV 2 Sport.

"I have always told my children that we can probably do many things in life, but we must never lie. This applies in all aspects of life and thus also in top football. We go to great lengths in top football to win, but things have to be correct. Those statements from Neestrup are not. I will never lie or cheat my way to a win. Never", emphasizes the FCM boss.

After yesterdays 1-0 win, FC Copenhagen lead the Danish Superliga table with 39 points after 19 matches while FC Midtjylland are three points behind in second place.
