Rasmus Hojlund is officially a new Napoli player. The 22-year-old Dane arrives on loan from Manchester United with an obligation to buy for 44 million in the event of Champions League qualification.

Napoli have closed the acquisition of Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United.

The two clubs have agreed on a loan deal for the first season in which Napoli will pay €6 million and an automatic buyout, in the event of Champions League qualification at the end of this season, for a further €44 million.

The 22-year-old Dane is therefore ready for his new adventure in Italy, where he played three years ago with Atalanta. Napoli have also included an 80-million-euro sale clause in the Dane's contract.

Hojlund, in his two seasons at United, played 95 games, scoring 26 goals, with the first year being the best with 16 goals in 43 games. Last season, in a deflated side, which finished 15th in the Premier League, he scored 10 in 52 games.

The Dane wanted to start the adventure with Napoli, where he will soon have the chance to become a main man, given Romelu Lukaku's long injury and Lorenzo Lucca's current sole presence as a forward.

On Deadline Day, Napoli also announced the return of Eljif Elmas.
