Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia (25) has gotten the green light from Manchester United to leave on loan, according to Dutch media.

Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof has reported that sources surrounding the player have confirmed the rumours about a temporary transfer of the defender.

25-year-old Malacia has appeared in just six games since returning from an injury which kept the Dutchman on the sidelines for the better part of 18 months.

According to Blaauwhof, Malacia got given the green light after Manchester United's Premier League game against Southampton in which he was an unused substitute. Malacia has since gotten "very close" to sealing a loan deal with an unknown club from a top European league.

The nine-time Dutch international moved from Feyenoord to Manchester United in 2022 for a fee of €15 million. He has a total of 45 Manchester United appearances to his name.
