Flashscore is committed to continually improving the service we provide our audience. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce the addition of predicted lineups to our online offerings.

We have provided the latest official team news when available - and will still do so - but now, eager football fans can check beforehand for our intuitive predicted lineups.

These predicted lineups are crafted with our data on both teams and include the players themselves, the preferred formation, the preferred positions of players, as well as updates regarding injuries, illness and collected yellow and/or red cards.

On top of this, our team will manually edit the predicted lineups based on new information that may be obtained.

For now, this new feature will only be available for the Premier League and Champions League, with all other top domestic competitions and European cups planned for before the end of the 2024/2025 season.

From the start of the 2025/2026 season, predicted lineups will be available for more than 50 competitions.

How it works

Our predicted lineups are selected based on a number of factors.

These include the selections of any given team in their last matches, with the most frequently used formation picked.

A player with an ongoing injury or a player who has been transferred out of the club will be removed from possible selection.

Players for individual positions are selected based on recent matches, and the player with the most starts in a given position will be selected.

If players have the same number of starts in a given position, the player with the highest calculated score is chosen. The most significant parameters for calculating the score are minutes played and match ratings.

Another factor is the tournament itself; players with more starts in that competition will be preferred over others.

Lastly, performances in the most recent matches will be considered, but they will not all carry equal weight. The most recent match will be prioritised, with matches further in the past gradually decreasing in importance.
