Jadon Sancho has been training with Flixton, who play in the 10th tier of English football, as the former Manchester United winger considers his next move after becoming a free agent.

Sancho joined Man Utd from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for about £73 million, but struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford. He was later excluded from the first team after publicly saying he had been made a “scapegoat”.

The 26-year-old subsequently returned to Dortmund on loan before spending a season at Chelsea, where he scored in the UEFA Conference League final.

He then joined Aston Villa on loan for the 2025/26 campaign and was part of the squad that won the Europa League, although he struggled to make a sustained impact.

Villa chose not to pursue a permanent deal and Sancho returned to Manchester before being released in June.

Qatari club Al Rayyan have been linked with a move for the former England international, who has been maintaining his fitness at non-league Flixton.

Sancho thanked Flixton for allowing him to train and praised the club’s facilities in Greater Manchester as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
