Stellar goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah capped a remarkable campaign for the Reds, who under new manager Arne Slot, have blown away the rest of the competition with 25 wins from their opening 34 matches.
Many expected a season of transition for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of 2023/24, however, the Dutchman has hit the ground running on Merseyside, leading the club to a second title in six years.
A shock home defeat to Nottingham Forest in mid-September preceded a 26-game unbeaten run as Slot’s charges moved clear of nearest challengers Arsenal and defending champions Manchester City, providing plenty of memorable moments along the way.
Here at Flashscore, we’ve picked out several of the key matches that helped propel Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th top-flight crown.
Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool
Having started the season with a pair of 2-0 wins over Ipswich and Brentford, Slot’s first big test as Liverpool manager came against Manchester United in a clash between England’s two most successful clubs.
Trent Alexander-Arnold had already seen a goal disallowed for offside inside the opening 10 minutes before Luis Diaz found the net twice in quick succession to put the Reds in cruise control at the break.
The talismanic Salah added a third before the hour mark with a trademark left-footed strike as Liverpool eased through the closing stages, punishing a pitiful performance from the hosts.
It was an early statement of intent from Slot’s men, who deservedly took the acclaim of the travelling supporters at the final whistle, with the Dutchman’s name ringing out around Old Trafford.
Liverpool 2-1 Brighton
Comeback victories are the hallmark of any title-winning season, and Liverpool produced a crucial one in early November to continue their growing momentum.
On a day when both Arsenal and Manchester City fell to costly defeats, the Reds avoided a similar fate thanks to a superb second-half turnaround against Brighton.
Trailing at half-time to Ferdi Kadioglu’s fine strike, Slot’s side summoned the power of Anfield to deservedly draw level in the 70th minute via Gakpo’s left-wing cross that drifted all the way into the far corner.
Less than two minutes later, the hosts were ahead, as a breathtaking counter-attack involving Diaz and Curtis Jones culminated in Salah curling a sublime effort into the top corner to send the Kop into raptures.
Southampton 2-3 Liverpool
The Reds produced another dramatic comeback just a few weeks later, this time at struggling Southampton, as a timely Salah brace extended the visitors’ lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.
Having taken the lead through Dominik Szoboszlai’s first league goal of the season, Liverpool were punished for some uncharacteristic defensive mistakes, with the Saints surging into a shock 2-1 lead after 56 minutes.
However, with their backs against the wall, Salah once again stepped up to the plate for Slot’s side, finishing expertly from a Ryan Gravenberch assist before coolly dispatching a penalty seven minutes from time to secure a hard-earned three points.
Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City
Fresh from a dominant Champions League victory over Real Madrid in midweek, Liverpool were absolutely flying when reigning champions Manchester City came to visit at the start of December.
Slot’s men came storming out of the blocks against the Cityzens, scoring the opener after just 12 minutes when Salah’s pinpoint delivery was tapped home by Gakpo in front of the Kop.
That goal set the tone for a mightily impressive display from Liverpool, and after several missed chances, they finally made sure of the win via Salah’s second-half spot-kick.
It was a performance that reinforced the Reds’ title credentials, as Pep Guardiola was goaded by chants of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ by the home supporters.
Brentford 0-2 Liverpool
Armed with a four-point cushion over Arsenal heading into the match, Liverpool knew a positive result at Brentford would cement their place at the Premier League summit.
It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for the Reds, though, with Thomas Frank’s side contributing to a fiercely competitive contest in West London.
Liverpool needed a moment of inspiration to break the deadlock, and that finally arrived in stoppage time when Alexander-Arnold’s cross was tucked away by substitute Darwin Nunez, sparking wild scenes of celebration in the away end.
The Uruguayan added a second two minutes later to put the seal on a crucial victory, as Liverpool ticked off another tricky away ground.
Manchester City 0-2 Liverpool
Having drawn two of their previous three league matches, the Reds returned to winning ways with a brilliant all-round showing at the home of the reigning champions.
A well-worked corner routine saw Salah fire Liverpool ahead early on, and the Egyptian proved too hot to handle for City as he teed up Szoboszlai for a clinical second before the break.
Armed with a two-goal lead, Slot’s men held firm under pressure in the second half to close out a statement win, completing a rare league double over the Cityzens in the process.

Liverpool 1-0 Everton
After a 98th-minute leveller from James Tarkowski had denied Liverpool all three points at Goodison Park just seven weeks earlier, the Reds claimed bragging rights on Merseyside with a hard-earned triumph against the Toffees.
A frustrating opening period paved the way for a monumental let-off shortly before the hour mark as Diogo Jota found the all-important breakthrough.
Receiving the ball from Diaz’s cute backheel, the Portuguese forward jinked past a couple of challenges before slotting beyond a stranded Jordan Pickford.
The result sent Liverpool 12 points clear as Slot’s side took another giant step towards the title.
Leicester City 0-1 Liverpool
With nothing to separate Leicester and Liverpool after 70 minutes, Alexander-Arnold entered the fray, five weeks on from injuring his ankle in the Reds’ Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Audible boos from the away end greeted the soon-to-be out-of-contract full-back, with a move to Real Madrid rumoured to be in its final stages.
His impact against the Foxes was immense, however, as within five minutes of his introduction, he powered a left-footed strike through the grasp of Mads Hermansen to finally break Leicester’s resistance.
Alexander-Arnold ripped off his shirt in celebration, taking the acclaim of the travelling support for what could be his final goal for his boyhood club.
Liverpool 5-1 Tottenham
Liverpool clinched the title with a thumping 5-1 win over Spurs in front of their adoring fans, thanks to goals from Diaz, Mac Allister, Gakpo and Salah, plus an own goal to boot.
It simply could not have gone better as the Reds put on a display for the Anfield faithful!
