Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has spoken to the press as he prepares to face Manchester United.

The Cherries have only managed to win in one of their seven league fixtures on the road this term, suffering four defeats in the process as they prepare to make their way to Manchester

Semenyo committed

Iraola’s side have lost four of their last six in the Premier League and will be aiming to bounce back against a United side who they beat 3-0 last time at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard first confirmed that defender Marcos Senesi is available for Monday’s clash, in what is a huge boost for Bournemouth's already shaky defence.

"We have to manage his situation, but he's optimistic, and he wants to give it a go. I hope he can be available and be part of the team, because we know he's very important for us."

Moving on from Senesi, Iraola next spoke on Semenyo, who continues to be linked with a move to United as well as rivals Liverpool. The forward is in dire form and Iraola was questioned on whether transfer talk is affecting his form.

"We cannot only analyse the numbers. He's not our number nine. He's a winger that gives us a lot of goals and a lot of assists, and he gives us chances normally. He was the biggest threat against Chelsea the other day.

"I don't feel (transfer speculation) is affecting him a lot. When you hear your name every day in the news you have to deal with the situation, but I think he's committed, and I haven't seen a lot of changes in him."

Improving on poor form

Bournemouth started the campaign incredibly well, finding themselves in the top four. However, they have since dropped down to 13th, which Iraola says he is desperately trying to turn his side around.

"I think we are being less efficient, definitely, than we've been at the beginning of the season. We were getting more points than we deserved at the beginning of the season, and now we are getting less points overall.

"I know that we weren't as good as we looked at the beginning, and we are not as bad as our results say, lately. We are somewhere in the middle.

"We are looking now for risk, efficiency, scoring, the chances you have, for being better inside the box. At the end of the day that is what matters most."
