PSG underlined their intent in the first minute as Bradley Barcola and Joao Neves combined beautifully, only for Barcola to screw his shot wide.
Not long afterwards the 22-year-old made amends, tucking home after Ousmane Dembele’s curled effort had been parried into his path by Lucas Chevalier.
Chevalier was duly called upon to palm out Dembele’s strike from distance, with the Lille goalkeeper getting up to deny both Goncalo Ramos and Achraf Hakimi.
Chevalier then pulled off arguably his best save of the night, getting down to his left to thwart Joao Neves, but he was still unable to prevent PSG doubling their advantage midway through the first half.
An awful attempted clearance by Mitchel Bakker saw Lille concede a corner, which was ultimately worked out to Desire Doue, whose teasing back-post cross was nodded across Chevalier by Marquinhos.
And it was soon 3-0 as a patient PSG move cut Lille open, with Neves laying the ball off for Dembele to stroke in.
There was still time for a fourth goal before half-time, as Doue hammered in spectacularly from an angle to well and truly put the contest to bed.
Barcola could easily have added a fifth before the break, with Lille head coach Bruno Genesio, no doubt stunned, making a double change ahead of the second period which included the introduction of Kylian Mbappe’s brother Ethan.
The 18-year-old quickly came close to creating a consolation goal, but his dangerous corner was nodded over by Alexsandro.
While the game certainly dipped in intensity as it wore on, Lille eventually got on the scoresheet as an Mbappe shot was parried out by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but only to substitute Jonathan David, who applied the finish.
It is now just one win in the last 29 away meeting with PSG for Lille, who are now five points adrift of the top four and must pick themselves up ahead of a daunting UEFA Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday - the day before PSG host Liverpool in the same competition in what should be a scintillating contest.
