Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 1-1 Ligue 1 stalemate by Stade de Reims, who ended a nine-match winning run across all competitions for Luis Enrique’s side.

Facing a PSG team brimming with confidence after their midweek fightback from 2-0 down against Man City, Reims shot-stopper Yehvann Diouf was kept very busy in a free-flowing first half, first parrying away Ousmane Dembélé’s driven effort from the edge of the box.

Soon after, he spared Cédric Kipré’s blushes after his defensive error, denying Gonçalo Ramos from close range. He would also thwart the Portugal international again moments later with an even better save, pushing the forward’s shot onto the post following Désiré Doué’s defence-splitting pass.

In contrast, chances were few and far between for Reims, though Gianluigi Donnarumma was twice called into action to thwart the lively Keito Nakamura.

However, Reims’ resistance was broken just two minutes into the second half, when PSG debutant Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made a darting run forward and teed up Dembélé, whose strike took a big deflection off Kipré before looping over Diouf for his fifth goal in all competitions since the start of 2025.

That joy was short-lived though, as the visitors restored parity nine minutes later through Nakamura. The Japan international ended a superb sweeping move involving compatriot Junya Itō and Marshall Munetsi before coolly dispatching his subsequent strike past Donnarumma.

Luka Elsner’s side were understandably content in holding on for a point from there, and remained resolute in their defensive structure against a PSG side taking a patient approach in search of a potentially decisive second goal.

The Parisians had plenty of the ball in the latter minutes, but Diouf remained largely untroubled amid the backdrop of an increasingly tetchy crowd inside the Parc des Princes.

Ultimately, the reigning champions couldn’t find another way past the Red and Whites goalkeeper, as a run of four straight home wins in league and cup competition came to an end.

With this draw, PSG could have their lead at the top cut to seven points on Sunday if Marseille manage to win away at Nice, while Reims move up one place into 12th with this hard-fought point.
