Goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (34) on Monday completed a move to Nantes after reaching an agreement to terminate his contract with fellow Ligue 1 club Lyon.

Lopes made 489 appearances for Lyon but lost his place in the team this season to Lucas Perri, who was signed from Brazilian side Botafogo last January.

Lopes, capped 14 times by Portugal and a Euro 2016 winner, did not play a single game for Lyon this season and had been frozen out of the matchday squads since August.

He has joined Nantes on an initial six-month deal, which includes the option for a two-year extension.

Nantes are fighting against relegation having won just three of 15 league matches. They sit in 14th place and only a point above the bottom three.
