Goalkeeper

Nikita Haikin (Bodo/Glimt) - 7.6

The Bodo/Glimt goalkeeper stood out in the knockout round thanks to his consistency. He first finished with a clean sheet against Olympiacos with five saves in the first leg, before being undone in the return leg.

Despite this, he still saved six shots and kept his team in the hunt for glory.

Defence

Yuri Berchiche (Athletic Bilbao) - 8.0

Against Roma, Berchiche shone both defensively and offensively. First of all, the full-back won 16 duels in the two legs and completed 91.5% of his passes.

He then made his mark by scoring their second goal in the 68th minute of the second leg, before creating an assist to Nico Williams seven minutes before time. A complete package, he reduced Roma's hopes to nought.

Alessio Romagnoli (Lazio) - 8.3

Lazio's best player of the first leg, Romagnoli opened the scoring for his side against Viktoria Plzen. He then repeated the feat in the return leg with another goal.

He also won 25 duels and completed 89% of his passes, helping the Romans beat the Czech side 3-2 on aggregate.

Milan Skriniar - Fenerbahce - 7.3

A long way from PSG, Skriniar was consistent throughout the Round of 16. He did his club proud by winning 25 duels and making four tackles in the two games.

He also gave his all offensively, completing 97% of his passes. In good form, he made an active contribution to Fener's success but was unable to prevent Rangers from winning on penalties.

Mert Muldur (Fenerbahce) - 7.4

Jose Mourinho had plenty to be pleased about with his defenders despite the aggregate defeat. Full-back Muldur has also been at his best over the last two Thursdays.

Proud of winning 16 duels, he also mastered eight tackles and, most importantly, delivered an assist for Sebastian Szymanski's second goal in the second leg.

Midfield

Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao) - 7.8

Another Basque to shine, Nico Williams had no hesitation in torpedoing Roma's defence in the second leg. Not only did he win 27 of his duels in the double-header, but he also scored twice in San Mames.

As a result, Roma were knocked out and Bilbao went on to win the tie. With statistics like that, he could be one of the best players.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 8.0

He was the player of this Europa League tie for United. A great captain, Fernandes kept his cool on two occasions to score two penalties against Real Sociedad before snuffing out the Spanish side's hopes with a goal in the 87th minute of the second leg.

He also made the play and showed his intelligence throughout the two games, although he was a little below par at Anoeta.

Jean-Matteo Bahoya (Eintracht Frankfurt) - 8.0

A little lacklustre in attack at first, Bahoya made up for it in the second leg against Ajax (6-2 aggregate). The player scored the first goal of the game, then made an assist for Hugo Ekitike to condemn their opponents.

He also won a total of 25 duels over the two ganes. These statistics make him one of the best midfielders in the round of 16.

Forwards

Malick Fofana (Lyon) - 7.9

A substitute on two occasions, Fofana became a luxury player for Paulo Fonseca. Even though Lyon outplayed FCSB 7-1 on aggregate, the forward returned to inject even more dynamism into the team.

First of all, he scored twice in the first leg before making himself useful in four duels in the return leg. A hard worker, he proved that he too deserved a future start in the tournament.

Sebastian Szymanski (Fenerbahce) - 8.1

Szymanski may not have been a big hit against Rangers in the first leg (six duels won), but he made up for it in the return.

The in-form centre-forward scored twice in the second leg. Unfortunately for the Turkish team, the Scots prevailed and Szymanski's efforts went unrewarded. Nevertheless, he remains the most eye-catching number nine of the two games.

Rayan Cherki (Lyon) - 8.4

Always in fine form, Cherki was a delight to watch on the right flank in this knockout round. Agile with his dribbling, he won 23 duels and completed 90.5% of his passes.

He also provided four assists for Fofana's two goals in the first leg and Mikautadze's two goals in the return - two other stellar performances that helped Lyon shine in Europe.
