Denmark announce Under-21 EURO squad but some clubs prevent big names from taking part

Danish Under-21 national coach Steffen Hojer has selected the squad for this summer's European Championship finals, where Denmark will face the Netherlands, Finland and Ukraine in the opening group stage.

Here is the squad:

Goalkeepers: Andreas Jungdal (KVC Westerlo), Theo Sander (Hvidovre IF), William Lykke (FC Nordsjaelland).

Defenders: Anton Gaaei (AFC Ajax), Aske Adelgaard (Go Ahead Eagles), Elias Jelert (Galatasaray), Lucas Hey (RSC Anderlecht), Oliver Provstgaard (SS Lazio), Thomas Kristensen (Udinese Calcio), Sebastian Otoa (Genoa CFC), Victor Bak Jensen (FC Midtjylland), Clement Bischoff (Brondby IF).

Midfielders: Isak Jensen (Viborg FF), Noah Nartey (Brondby IF), Oliver Sorensen (FC Midtjylland), Oscar Hojlund (Eintracht Frankfurt), Oscar Fraulo (FC Utrecht), Tochi Chukwuani (SK Sturm Graz), Thomas Jorgensen (Viborg FF)

Strikers: Conrad Harder (Sporting CP), Mathias Kvistgaarden (Brondby IF), William Boving (SK Sturm Graz), William Osula (Newcastle United)

A number of clubs have not allowed their players to participate in the Under-21 final tournament. Consequently, players like Mika Biereth (AS Monaco), Lucas Hogsberg (FC Nordsjaelland) and Victor Froholdt (FC Copenhagen) won’t be available to take part in the tournament.
