Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez (23) could move to AC Milan as soon as this weekend, according to Dutch media.

The Mexican striker wants to join Milan this transfer window but has to wait for the clubs to reach an agreement on the transfer fee. Feyenoord demand at least €35 million for their star striker.

A bid between 35 and 40 million euros would suffice for Feyenoord and Milan allegedly are not far away from reaching this number. If it comes to an agreement between the two sides, Gimenez would likely not be available for this Sunday's 'Klassieker' derby against Ajax.

According to De Telegraaf's Marcel van der Kraan, Milan have made substantial progress in the last 24 hours but will not see Feyenoord technical director Dennis te Kloese lower the asking price.

Van der Kraan reports that Milan have communicated to Gimenez and his agent, Rafaele Pimenta, that the transfer will go through. Pimenta has a history of striking deals with Feyenoord, having negotiated manager Arne Slot's move to Liverpool in 2024 after lengthy discussions about financial compensation for Feyenoord.

If Gimenez completes his move to Milan this transfer window, he would meet Feyenoord soon already as the two sides drew each other in Friday's Champions League knock-out phase draw.

Gimenez himself is reportedly ready for a move and does not want to let a potential big move go by again. The Mexican international rejected a 32.5 million euro move to Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2024 and is afraid a chance like this won't come around again.

Gimenez joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 for just €4 million and has been pivotal in Feyenoord's success under previous manager Arne Slot. The Argentinian-born Mexican striker has scored a total of 65 goals in 105 games in all competitions and won the Eredivisie, KNVB Cup, and Dutch Supercup since joining the Rotterdam side.
