Rosenborg have signed last season's Player of the Year in the Danish Superliga, Simen Nordli, on a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old Norwegain international has signed a contract until the 2029 season.

"It is absolutely fantastic. A big dream that is coming true, so I'm very happy. I've been a Rosenborg supporter since I was little boy and dreamed of playing for the club, so it's simply huge", says Nordli.

Simen Nordli joined Randers in January 2023 from Aalesunds FK, on a deal valid for three and a half years.

Since then, he has played 75 matches, scored 22 goals, delivered 13 assists, and won the award as Player of the Year in the Danish Superliga last season.

Nordli is said to have had a buyout clause that Rosenborg were willing to trigger. He initially had one year left on his contract with Randers.

"It has been a great year, and I have taken it step by step. Now I am ready to contribute to Rosenborg", he says.

Rosenborg's sports director, Micke Dorsin, is thrilled with the purchase and says on the club's website:

"Simen is very skilled in decisive situations when he gets the opportunity, both to make the last pass but also the third last pass, and, in addition, he is a good finisher."

"That is why we are bringing him in, he is a good team player who works hard for the team, and he is a Norwegian who knows Rosenborg well in terms of  our history, culture, and identity, says Dorsin.
