The UEFA Conference League saw some unexpected results as the knockout round playoffs took centre stage. Here is a stat from each of the eight games after a hectic Thursday night.

13 - Celje and APOEL played to a gripping 2-2 draw in Slovenia. That leaves both teams in a fascinating spot going into next Thursday's return leg in Nicosia. For Celje, it was the 13th continental home game in a row in which they have found the back of the net. The defending Slovenian champs are also 10 without loss at Stadion Z'dežele in Europe (6-4-0). Moreover, they have scored multiple goals at home for the fifth match in a row.

7 - Shamrock Rovers continue their remarkable European run with a 1-0 win at Molde, who played the second half down a man. Having lost both previous meetings, the Irish side are on the cusp of progressing from a knockout round tie at the first attempt. For Molde, they have been beaten by an Irish club for the first time, in what was their seventh such meeting. They had won their first six before this.

10 - TSC will have it all to do in the return leg as they fell 3-1 at home to Jagiellonia Bialystok. It is the Poles' second away win in the UECL this term, with the other coming back on matchday 1. As for the Serbs, they have conceded in all 10 European home games they have played, with seven of those 10 matches seeing them give up three or more goals.

6 - Vikingur Reykjavik pulled off the shock of the week in their clash, beating former European Cup finalists Panathinaikos 2-1. This is despite the Icelandic club playing their home leg in Finland, due to there being no suitable venues for the match to take place in Iceland. Vikingur notched their sixth win in Europe this season, qualifiers included. Before this term, they had five victories in their nine previous continental campaigns combined.

4 - Borac Banja Luka have a first leg lead to hold onto next week in Slovenia. The Bosnians topped Olimpija Ljubljana 1-0 in Banja Luka, with their winner coming in the 91st minute. Olimpija, who played most of the second half down a man, suffered their fourth defeat versus Bosnian opposition in six meetings (1-1-4). It is also the first time since 2021/22 that they have failed to score in consecutive away games in Europe.

15 - Heidenheim's maiden European campaign continues to be a success. The side sitting third bottom in the Bundesliga came from a goal down to beat FC Kobenhavn 2-1 away. German opponents continue to be a problem for Kobenhavn. They still have never come out on top in these matches, with the defeat to Heidenheim being their 15th versus Bundesliga opposition (0-5-10). After winning all three of their home games in qualifying, FCK have managed to do so just once since the league phase.

9 - The all-Cypriot clash ended honours even, as Omonoia Nicosia and Paphos drew 1-1 in Nicosia. This was the first time that two clubs from Cyprus met in a UEFA club competition. It is the first time in nine home matches in the Conference League that Omonoia drew, Their last stalemate came on matchday six of the competition's inaugural season back in 2021/22 against Kairat.

17 - Real Betis have one firm foot in the round of 16 after they got three second-half goals to defeat Gent 3-0 away. Just as they did in the Champions League 19 years ago, Los Verdiblancos managed to get a win in Belgium. As for Gent, the defeat was not only their joint-heaviest in the Conference League, but it ended a run of 17 matches at home without defeat in the competition. Their last home loss came in 2022/23 during the group stage against Djurgarden.
