A second-place finish and a direct ticket to the UEFA Champions League were not enough for Robin van Persie to keep his job as Feyenoord manager. A whole new regime - formed by Devy Rigaux and Robert Eenhoorn - appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as Van Persie's successor.
Van Bronckhorst will embark upon his second UEFA Champions League adventure with Feyenoord after finishing fourth in Group F in the 2017/18 season. At the same time, Feyenoord enters the competition's League Phase for the second time, too, reaching the round of 16 in their first attempt in 2024/25.
