Slovakian international defender, Denis Vavro has been excluded from the squad in Wolfsburg. "We are focusing only on players who are willing to follow the path we have chosen", says Wolfburg managing director Dieter Hecking

Denis Vavro appears to be on his way out at Wolfsburg. The former FC Copenhagen player was left out of the squad for the German club's recent friendlies and also missed the 2. Bundesliga season opener.

The club's head coach, Tobias Strobl, recently stated that the 30-year-old defender was not selected because he does not wish to follow the 'path' the club has chosen.

Local media outlet *Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung* also reports that Denis Vavro did not participate in team training on Tuesday. Now, the club's managing director, Dieter Hecking, confirms that the experienced defender has been removed from team training.

"Tobias Strobl has already said it. We are only counting on players who are willing to follow the path we have chosen. Everyone who is ready for it is very welcome, and that applies not only to matches but also to training."

"As for Denis, we have the impression that he does not wish to follow that path. That is why we have removed him from team training. He is training individually", says Hecking.

Instead of training with the rest of the squad, Vavro has been given an individual training program, the outlet reports. Vavro moved from FC Copenhagen to Wolfsburg on loan in the summer of 2024.

A year later, he was signed permanently.
