The Eels playmaker has dropped a bombshell on his current employers off the back of one of their worst ever starts to a new season, confirming he's off to the coastal city in 2026.

Initial reports in News Corp newspapers, unconfirmed by Brown when he announced his impending move on Instagram on Monday evening, suggest the 24-year-old Kiwi has agreed to a ten-year contract worth a whopping $13m.

If correct, it would trump the reported $12m ten-year deal that Gold Coast Titans captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui agreed to in 2023.

Brown would become just the third player in NRL history to put pen to a ten-year contract, following Fa'asuamaleaui and Cowboys lock Jason Taumalolo, who is into the eighth year of an estimated $1m-per-year deal in Townsville.

Brown will be linking up with number seven Kalyn Ponga, who is contracted at the Knights through to 2027, with the pair commanding as much as one-quarter of the Knights' salary cap between them.

Parramatta's general manager of football, Mark O'Neill, had this to say in a press release on Monday night:

"Dylan has been offered what I understand to be the biggest deal in NRL history from 2026 onwards. Dylan is a class player, we understand his decision to take up the offer and no one could begrudge him for accepting this opportunity for him and his family."
