Game 3 of the American League Championship Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians has been moved up by five hours due to local weather forecasts.

Major League Baseball announced that the game will now take place at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time (19:00 CET).

"The change, which is based on forecasted rain on Thursday night in Cleveland, is being made proactively in order to remain on schedule in the ALCS," MLB said in a statement.

The Guardians and Rays are scheduled to play games three, four and five at Cleveland's Progressive Field on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

They would return to Tropicana Field for games six and seven if necessary. Tampa Bay bounced back to level the series with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday after starting pitcher Freddy Peralta tossed a personal Postseason-best six shutout innings.

The series is now tied at one apiece.

Meanwhile, Game 4 of the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers has also been moved to 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, also for weather reasons.

Game 3 between the two NL teams takes place tonight as the Brewers have a 2-0 series lead.
