The Los Angeles Angels traded starting pitcher Kirby Yates to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for pitching prospect Kyle Robinson.

Pittsburgh also acquired Lake Bachar from the Marlins shortly after, sending over Triple-A pitcher Brandan Bidois, High-A outfielder Brian Sanchez, and Single-A shortstop Hyun Seung Lee.

Bachar is tossing a 3.84 ERA with 61 strikeouts through 58.2 innings.

Yates, 39, has a 3.95 ERA with three saves in 31 games this season. He has 36 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, giving up 12 walks and 20 hits. The two-time All-Star joins Luke Weaver in Pittsburgh as the Pirates beefed up their bullpen at the trade deadline.

Robinson, 23, has a 4.55 ERA this season in the minors with 78 strikeouts through 83 innings, giving up 34 walks and 85 hits. It's worth noting that Robinson has a 6.43 ERA at the Double-A level after working his way up through Single-A and High-A.
