The Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Nashville Predators at Stockholm's Avicii Arena in a two-game series in November, the NHL announced on Tuesday.

After the success of NHL new four nations face-off earlier this year, the league heads to Sweden for the 12th time with the last occasion taking place in 2023.

The two-game series will be the 47th and 48th games to be played outside of North America. They will take place on Friday, November 16th and Sunday, November 18th.

Pittsburgh will play abroad for the first time since 2008, whilst Nashville have travelled overseas more recently, having played the San Jose Sharks in Prague two years ago.

Stockholm has hosted the most NHL regular-season games of any city outside North America, with next season’s two-game contest to raise that total to 18 games. The 2025 NHL Global Series will be the first NHL games played at Avicii Arena since its re-opening last month after a full year of extensive renovations.
