NHL roundup: St. Louis Blues set franchise record with 12th straight win

The NHL had a big 13-game slate on Saturday in which the St. Louis Blues set a franchise record with their 12th straight win while the Boston Bruins ended their 10-game drought thanks to David Pastrna's hat trick.

After being down 4-0, the Avs rallied to cut the lead within one.

But Robert Thomas (21) hit the empty-netter to put the game out of reach despite Sam Malinski (4) scoring in the final ten seconds for the Avs. 

Bruins 5-1 Hurricanes

The Bruins earned a much-needed win thanks to efforts of David Pastrnak, who scored his 40th goal of the year during a hat trick. 

Pastrnak also had two assists during the big night. 

Carolina has lost two in a row in which they've given up five goals in back-to-back games.

The New Jersey Devils shutout a New York Rangers team looking for a Wild Card spot in a 4-0 win.

Ottawa posted their first shutout since February 1st with their 3-0 win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Kings continue to roll after they beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 for their fourth straight win while six different players scored in the Vancouver 6-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Tage Thompson put up his 40th goal of the year in the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Montreal Canadiens scored three goals in the third period to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2.

Nick Robertson put up two goals in the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-0 shutout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Utah Hockey Club upset the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 thanks to goaltender Karel Vejmelka's 32 saves.
