The NHL's 10-game slate on Tuesday provided a lot of excitement as the Columbus Blue Jackets keep their playoff hopes alive with one more game to go while Toronto's Auston Matthews scored his 400th career goal as the Maple Leafs clinched the Atlantic Division title!

The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to roll as they shutout the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 for their fifth straight win.

Columbus (87 points) now pulls within reach of the Montreal Canadiens (89 points) for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Blue Jackets will face the New York Islanders on Thursday for their final game while the Canadiens take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.

The stage is now simple - Canadiens win and they're in while the Blue Jackets need to win and Montreal to lose!

Maple Leafs 4-0 Sabres

Matthews scored his 400th goal in a shutout win over the Sabres to lift the Maple Leafs to an Atlantic Division title - their sixth division title in franchise history.

He now becomes the sixth-fastest player (628 games) to achieve the milestone, beating out none other than Alexander Ovechkin (634).

Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz had his second shutout in the past three games, his third on the season.

The Leafs will head into their final game against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday with the chance to own the most wins in the Eastern Conference as them and the Washington Capitals both have 51.

Wild 3-2 Ducks

After Joel Eriksson Ek (14) scored with just 21 seconds left in the third period to send the game into overtime, Matt Boldy (27) scored the game-winner as the Minnesota Wild punched their ticket to the playoffs.

The team also brought in goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury for overtime in what may be the final appearance of his career, who the Ducks later embraced after the game.

Capitals 3-1 Islanders

Dylan Strome recorded his third-career hat trick in the Caps win on Tuesday.

As mentioned beforehand, the Caps and Maple Leafs are now tied with 51 win with one more game remaining.

The Caps already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but could have bragging rights if they end the season on the right note by beating their long-standing rival in the Pittsburgh Penguins

Around the league

Unfortunately for the Calgary Flames, despite their 5-4 win over the Vegas Golden Knights after a shootout, they won't be seeing the playoffs after the Wild clinched their spot.

Lock it in - after their 6-1 over the Utah Hockey Club, the St. Louis Blues will face the NHL's best Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Brian Dumoulin's (3) first goal for the New Jersey Devils came at the perfect time as he scored the overtime game-winner in their 5-4 win over the Boston Bruins

The Chicago Blackhawks may have had a rough season, but they ended on the best note possible with a 4-3 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators

Despite Brad Marchand (23) scoring in his 1,100th game, the Tampa Bay Lightning took down the Florida Panthers 5-1
