Another Danish international set to join Flensburg as replacement for Lukas Jorgensen

The 27-year old Danish international Emil Bergholt will according to TV2 Sport leave Skjern Handball to join German outfit Flensburg-Handewitt in the summer of 2026.

Bergholt, who took part in winning the World Cup with Denmark in January, will allegedly leave his childhood club to join Flensburg-Handewitt in the summer of 2026. 

None of the clubs wish to confirm the deal which is soon to be made public.

Emil Bergholt is set to replace another Danish international and World Cup winner, Lukas Jorgensen, who is believed to leave Flensburg for Hungarian Champions league outfit Veszprem in the summer of 2026. The German handball legend, Johannes Golla, will also leave Flensburg at that time.

He is listed for 18 A-national matches and was given his debut the Danish national team in January, where Denmark won the tournament for the fourth successive time. 

Should the deal go through, it will be the second time in his career that Emil Bergholt vawes goodbye to Skjern. He joined TM Tonder in 2017 and then later Mors-Thy, before returning to Skjern in 2021.
