Jesper Schou, managing director of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, explains why the Jutland club will be without the experienced playmaker
"Rasmus is currently not available for family circumstances, which probably means that he may have played his last game of the season."
"We do not expect him to be part of the team for the rest of the season", says Jesper Schou to TV 2 Sport before Tuesday's match in Helsinge against Nordsjaelland Handball.
Bjerringbro-Silkeborg don't not wish to reveal more details about the family circumstances which are the reason for Rasmus Lauge's absence.
Rasmus Lauge was last in action on 16 February in the cup final against Aalborg Handball.
Lauge's absence will naturally be a huge blow for the club who are currently chasing a spot in the playoffs of the domestic league.
"Rasmus Lauge is a big profile for us and has played really well for us for a long time. We saw most recently in January at the World Cup how good a player he is in the Danish national team."
"So it is clear that we can feel that Rasmus is not involved. But that gives opportunities to other players in the team, says Jesper Schou.
Rasmus Lauge returned home to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in the summer of 2023 on a five-year contract after a number of years where he was playing abroad.
