Bjerringbro-Silkeborg playmaker Morten Olsen will bring down the curtain on an impressive career after this season and take over as sports director at TMS Ringsted, says the club on its website.

The former Olympic champion said yesterday that he intends to end his active career at the end of this season.

"It seems about time. A long career that in retrospect feels like an incredibly short time, but which has given me memories for life. Handball has brought me great experiences, and I am proud of the titles I have helped win, both nationally and internationally", says Morten Olsen in a preess release.

This is the second time that the 40-year-old Morten Olsen has ended his career. The same was the case in 2022, when he had ambitions of becoming head coach, but resumed his active career.

Now he is set to take up the role as sports director of TMS Ringsted.

"Morten Olsen will not join the board until the annual general meeting at the end of September, as he is currently employed by BSH, but this summer he will move to Ringsted with his family."

"Morten will also as of 1 July take up a position for the club's two teams in the Handball League and the 2nd division, respectively", writes chairman Henrik Dudek on the club's website.
