Aalborg Handball's Thomas Arnoldsen is out indefinitely again as part of the illness, which for almost two seasons has prevented him from playing handball full-time.

Thomas Arnoldsen joined Aalborg Handball in the summer of 2023 from Skanderborg-AGF Handball and was shortly afterwards forced to on sick leave with physical and mental fatigue.

"In the subsequent period of six months, I was examined and diagnosed with ADHD, and I received a number of tools to handble it from the club's medical team and associated resources", says Thomas Arnoldsen.

"Although I felt much better and was able to play handball again, the symptoms never completely went away and gradually got worse again this season. That is why I started taking medication for my ADHD in the spring, which meant that I had to stay away from both training and matches."

"I am still on medication and I still have symptoms, which means that it is currently not possible for me to practice the sport I love so much."

"Therefore, together with the club, I have chosen to pull the plug for a period of time, so that together we can get the situation under control and I can once again become part of the team and contribute on the court", Arnoldsen explains further.

Aalborg Handball's director Jan Larsen adds:

"It is of course a frustrating and annoying situation for Thomas, but also something we have great respect for and which must be handled and treated in the right way and with the necessary time."

"At the time of writing, we cannot say anything about, when we expect to have Thomas back on the court again, but that is not the most important thing, as our primary focus right now is to provide all the help we can so that we can solve Thomas' problems."
