Denmark's women's national handball team booked their second win against Hungary within a few days when they humiliated the visitors 31-22 in Svendborg in a game where many Danish players showed great promise for the future.

There wasn't much to separate the teams when the two sides faced each other in the European Championships in December, and it was also close when the Danes visited Tatabanya and won 21-19 during the week. But in Svendborg, the Danes were clearly superior as they won 31-22 after a very dominant performance in the first 30 minutes.

Like in Hungary, goalkeeper Anna Kristensen really showed her potential, but unlike Thursday, there were also great performances from the rest of the Danish players.

Kristensen had plenty of help from a well-organized defense superbly administered by Line Haugsted and Anne Mette Hansen, who often forced the Hungarians to finish their attacks from the wings gving Kristensen favorable conditions to make saves.

Several technical errors by the visitors and two long periods without goals in the first half helped Denmark well on their way to leading 14-7 at the interval.

The Danish hosts, however, struggled to keep up the level in the second half, where the Hungarians proved more resistant than in the first half.

The last part of the match gave coach Helle Thomsen a chance to give some of the lesser names in the squad a chance to shine after they were called up when Mie Hojlund, Sarah Paulsen, Mette Tranborg, and Elma Halilcevic were withdrawn from the squad after sustaining injuries.

Thanks to the win, Denmark now has four wins out of a possible four in group two of the EHF Euro Cup, which is a tournament made for nations that do not play qualifying matches in the major final rounds.
