Danish women's handball national team coach Jesper Jensen will take over from Allan Heine as coach of the Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros when Heine steps down from his position this summer.

Ferencvaros confirm on their website that the contract has been signed but they don't mention the length of the contract.

Jesper Jensen will now focus on winning the the Champions League title with Ferencvaros which he never managed to do with Danish champions Team Esbjerg despite having one of the most talented squads in Europe at his disposal.

"I have played against Ferencváros many times, so I have many good experiences with the club and the fans. It's an honor to work as a national coach, so it was a difficult decision to make, but I knew I wanted to manage a club team again and when they called, things took off. I am looking forward to joining the club", says Jesper Jensen.

"I want to create something special. I know what the team's goals are and that's also very motivating for me. Ferencváros has a fantastic past. There is always pressure at a club like this, and I think everyone who moves here knows that - so I'm looking forward to this pressure and working with the players."

Jesper Jensen stepped down as coach of Team Esbjerg in the summer of 2024 to focus solely on the Danish national team. He will not remain in the role as Danish national team coach when he embarks on his new adventure with Ferencvaros.
