Jorgensen's return to Metz was according to "L'Equipe" virtually certain in the wake of Györ's statement earlier in the day, officially confirming the Danish playmaker's departure this summer.
"During negotiations, ideas for the future emerged, and it seemed the best solution would be if Kristina (Jorgensen) could continue to develop in another team," the Hungarian club wrote.
That other team will be Metz again, where Jorgensen previously played between 2022 and 2024. Jorgensen has signed a four-year contract with the French outfit.
“It’s a huge asset, both on and off the court,” says coach Emmanuel Mayonnade.
Thierry Weizman, the well-known President of the French women's handball club said further: “Her arrival was linked to Emmanuel’s presence next year. We always felt a return was possible, as we maintain very good relationships with the players who come and go.”
Jorgensen says she is “honored to return to Metz,” a “club with demanding training and a staff that does everything possible to help players improve every day.”
