SG Flensburg Handewitt on Thursday secured another win in the German Bundesliga and underlined their strong form by winning 38-32 (23-20) at ThSV Eisenach. Flensburg thus remain unbeaten after the ninth game of the season. Emil Jakobsen was the leading goal scorer for the visitors with eleven goals in a game where the German international Marko Grgic returned to Eisenach and scored eight goals after his transfer in the summer.

Less than 48 hours after the impressive win in the European Cup against Saint-Raphael (32-30), the Flensburg outfit put on a superb performance against the Thuringians in the first 20 minutes and quickly opened up an eight-goal lead.

It was a fireworks display that was partly reminiscent of the extremely strong second half in the state derby against THW Kiel (36-34).

The SG, for whom Marko Grgic was one of the key profiles on his return to Eisenach (eight goals), deservedly won their seventh successive league win after a convincing, fighting performance over the course of the game.

On Tuesday, Flensburg travel to Spain to face Bidasoa Irun in the European League while they will host HC Erlangen in the Campus Halle on 26.October in the German Bundesliga.
