As the festive season looms, we've got another jam-packed weekend of football to look forward to. As usual, keep up to date with all the latest news and results right here!

Sunday, December 15th

23:30 CET - Well, what a day of football that was! It seemed to have a bit of everything - United shocking City in the Manchester derby, Spurs spanking Saints and Barcelona slipping up at home.

We will be back with the Football Tracker next weekend as usual. Until then, enjoy the midweek action!

23:00 CET - LaLiga leaders Barcelona have been stunned at home by Leganes, losing 1-0! Sergio Gonzalez scored an early goal for the visitors and despite then having only 20 per cent of possession, Leganes managed to hang on, withstanding 20 shots from their Catalan hosts.

While Leganes will celebrate their first away win of the campaign, Barcelona might come to rue this sloppy performance with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both hot on their heels and both with a game in hand.

22:43 CET - PSG have claimed a 3-1 win over Ligue 1 rivals Lyon in Paris. The victory sees the Parisians go seven points clear at the top of the standings with both Marseille and Monaco dropping points over the weekend.

Over in Serie A, Milan and Genoa have played out a goalless draw. It’s not an ideal result for Paulo Fonseca’s side who are way down in eighth. Patrick Vieira’s Genoa, however, will take the point on the road.

Catch up on the Serie A action here.

22:00 CET - At half-time time in LaLiga’s late game, league leaders Barcelona are trailing Leganes 1-0. Work to do for Hansi Flick’s men with Atletico now breathing down their necks!

21:55 CET - Chelsea have beaten West London rivals Brentford 2-1 to move within two points of Premier League leaders Liverpool and, importantly, go four points clear of Arsenal in third.

The Blues keep saying they aren’t title contenders but the table doesn’t lie!

In the other late Premier League fixture, Tottenham’s five (yes, five!) first-half goals have proven to be enough to beat Southampton (shock) - that match finished 5-0 to Spurs.

21:42 CET - At half-time in Paris, PSG are leading Ligue 1 rivals Lyon 2-1 thanks to two early goals. Over in Italy, Milan and Genoa are still tied at 0-0.

21:23 CET - In the final Bundesliga fixture of the round, RB Leipzig have come out on top in their clash with fellow top-four side Eintracht Frankfurt, winning 2-1. The victory actually pulls Leipzig level on points with Eintracht.

20:52 CET - At half-time in the late Premier League fixtures, Chelsea are leading Brentford 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Down at St. Mary’s, Southampton are being absolutely hammered by Tottenham, it’s 5-0 already. Spurs scored their first three after just 15 minutes with fans seen leaving before the 20-minute mark. Disaster for Russell Martin.

20:40 CET - Along with Barcelona vs Leganes (21:00 CET), we have some tasty evening matches to look forward to still.

In Serie A, AC Milan are hosting Genoa (20:45 CET) while in Ligue 1, it’s a big one as Paris Saint-Germain take on Lyon at Parc des Princes (20:45 CET). See how the sides will line up for that French epic below:

20:32 CET - In the Bundesliga, there is just one match left for the weekend and it’s currently half-time there already with RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt level at 1-1.

20:28 CET - Moving over to Spain where two LaLiga matches have just wrapped up, 10-man Real Betis have held on to beat Villarreal 2-1 away.

Meanwhile up in San Sebastian, Real Sociedad and Las Palmas have played out a goalless draw.

In the late game this evening, league leaders Barcelona host Leganes.

20:15 CET - After just 15 minutes at St. Mary’s, Tottenham are leading Southampton 3-0, quite incredibly. This could get ugly…

20:03 CET - Over to Italy and Roma's honeymoon period under new coach Claudio Ranieri might be over after a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Como after two late goals from Serie A's new side.

19:55 CET - Next up in the Premier League after the dramatic finale to the Manchester derby is two rare Sunday evening matches as Chelsea host Brentford and Spurs take on Southampton.

19:45 CET - Dortmund have dropped more points in the Bundesliga after a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim. A tough season domestically continues in front of the Yellow Wall.

19:41 CET - A Scottish League Cup final classic has been won on penalties by Celtic against Old Firm rivals Rangers after a thrilling 3-3 draw after extra-time.

19:32 CET - An incredible finale in the Manchester derby and United steal all three points in the most dramatic and unbelievable of ways.

Check out the match report here.

Amad Diallo is the hero and he has written his name into United folklore after doing something similar against Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final last season. Manchester United 2-1 City.

As for City, where do you start? They walk away with nothing and it was all they deserved after yet another toothless performance which is hardly recognisable from the side that has dominated the league in recent years. Where does Guardiola go from here?

19:26 CET - In a Manchester derby lacking quality we have just seen a moment of quality from the absolute highest levels from Amad Diallo who has surely single-handedly won United the derby! Amad made a brilliant run in behind before bringing the ball down with the touch Messi would have been proud of before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into an empty net.

Incredible scenes. Heartbreak for City. Euphoria for United.

19:22 CET - Manchester United are level! It had been coming and the one bright spark all evening and he wins the penalty for his side after a great run. Bruno Fernandes subsequently converted the penalty.

19:17 CET - United keep orbing for an equaliser but with no success and time is running out for the visitors. City meanwhile are closing in on a big in their season even if they still look some way off their usual standards.

19:09 CET - How has Bruno Fernandes not scored? It is fantastic centre-forward play by Rasmus Hojlund who slips the pass through for Fernandes who dinks an effort over Ederson but wide. He has to do better there the Manchester United captain but that sums up his second-half display - woeful.

19:02 CET - Briefly over to Ligue 1 and Brest have thrahsed Nantes 4-1.

19:01 CET - Manchester United are very unlucky to not have a penalty after Josko Gvardiol seemingly tripped Rasmus Hoijlund in the box. No penalty after a brief review. Harsh.

18:56 CET - The first chance of the second period has taken a while but it finally comes the way of United and Amad after a dangerous cross from Bruno Fernandes but Amad's header is well saved.

18:42 CET - We are back underway in the Manchester derby! Big half ahead for both clubs.

18:33 CET - Over in the Bundesliga and it is goalless between Dortmund and Hoffenheim.

18:22 CET - Half-time in a bizarre Manchester derby lacking quality, tempo and any kind of excitement. Neither Manchester City nor Manchester United are playing like they want to win this and City are fortunate to hold a half-time lead. But United can only blame themselves for creating next to nothing in a game that is there for the taking. So far there is very little evidence of any improvement under Ruben Amorim despite Erik ten Hag being hounded out by the media. It is almost as if the players aren't good enough.

As for City? I think Pep Guardiola feeling too embarrassed to celebrate his side's goal tells you everything about their performance this evening and the situation they find themselves in.

18:17 CET - Over to LaLiga and Athletic Bilbao's six-match winning run comes to an end after drawing 1-1 with Alaves.

18:08 CET - Manchester City take the lead in the derby! Josko Gvardiol directs a header at the back post past Andre Onana and it is 1-0 against the run of play. City might be lacking confidence but United are even more lost.

18:05 CET - Over to Serie A quickly and Roma are underway against Como as they look to continue their resurgence under Claudio Ranieri.

Follow that match here.

17:57 CET - Amad just missed timed his run in behind after a smart slipped-through ball from Manuel Ugarte. The Ivorian looked in for a moment but his effort one on one flew wide of the post before the offside flag went up. 30 minutes gone.

17:55 CET - City are just starting to get a hold of the game and Phil Foden smashes a low-driven shot just wide of goal in City's first sighting of goal.

17:45 CET - The first major talking point of the derby comes in the way of an injury and it is heartbreak for Mason Mount who pulls up and is forced off so soon after coming back.

The Englishman just can't stay fit and you have to feel for him as he walks off looking like a broken man. Kobbie Mainoo comes on in his place.

17:42 CET - The first 10 minutes have been and gone in Manchester without any clear-cut chances but it is the away side who are controlling the game so far. Composed start from United.

17:30 CET - The first Manchester derby of the 2024/25 season is underway!

17:25 CET - Five minutes until kick-off in Manchester! Derby Day is here. Form goes out of the window for the next 90 minutes - it is red vs blue, a city divided.

16:57 CET - Crystal Palace have blown away their arch-rivals Brighton 3-1 on the road. It’s a huge win for Oliver Glasner’s side who move up to 15th in the Premier League.

Over in Italy, previously in-form Fiorentina have lost 1-0 to Bologna in Serie A. Elsewhere, Verona have been boosted by an encouraging 3-2 win at Parma.

In Ligue 1, Nice and Montpellier have played out a 2-2 draw.

16:25 CET - The lineups are out for the Manchester derby and the major talking point is that United have left both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of their match-day squad. Kevin De Bruyne starts for City.

16:20 CET - Speaking of derbies, there’s the little matter of an Old Firm derby taking place up in Scotland today. This time, Celtic and Rangers are meeting in the League Cup final.

That one kicks off at 16:30 CET - follow the action here.

16:15 CET - It is almost time for the main event of the day - the Manchester derby.

With City struggling to exit their slump and United still easing into the leadership of Ruben Amorim, this one has all the ingredients of a classic. Check out our video preview below:
