Danish international goalkeeper Emil Nielsen will leave FC Barcelona to join Veszprém from next summer. Also, Lukas Jorgensen from Flensburg-Handewitt will join the Hungarian giants.

Emil Nielsen has signed a contract, which runs until 2029, and will be teammates with Lukas Jorgensen, who was also introduced as a new member of the Hungarian club on Thursday morning.

"Many people in the sport will probably share my opinion that he is currently the best goalkeeper in the world, which is supported by the fact that he is presently both Olympic champion and World champion", says Veszprem director Csaba Bartha.

Emil Nielsen has been in Barcelona since 2022, when the club signed him from French outfit Nantes.

Since then, he has become a huge profile in the Spanish club, just as he has taken over as first choice in the national team after Niklas Landin.

"I am proud to have signed a contract with Veszprem, which is a club with great potential with a great hunger for success", says Emil Nielsen, who hopes to contribute to Veszprem being able to pick up the Champions League trophy.
