The Philadelphia Eagles signed veteran defensive end Za'Darius Smith (32) to a one-year deal on Friday.

Financial details on the deal haven't been revealed at this time. Smith signed with the Eagles not even a full day after they defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the season opener.

The now 11-year veteran spent the first half of the 2024 season as a member of the Cleveland Browns before being traded to the Detroit Lions, where he finished out the year.

Smith posted nine sacks along with 35 tackles, 17 quarterback hits, nine tackles for a loss through all 17 games.

He joins the reigning champs to give them another pass rusher following a night they didn't record a single sack on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott

Smith has recorded 69 sacks through 140 games (96 starts) in his career playing for the Baltimore Ravens (2015-18), Green Bay Packers (2019-2021), Minnesota Vikings (2022), Browns and Lions.

He earned three Pro Bowl selections (2019, 2020, 2022) and a Second-Team All-Pro selection (2020), with his career high 13.5 sacks coming during his first year in Green Bay. Since then, Smith has finished each season with at least five sacks.
