From June 27th-28th, the seventh US Darts Masters will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In addition to big names from the PDC, eight participants from the USA and Canada will once again be taking part.

In addition to big names from the PDC, eight participants from the USA and Canada will once again participate.

What is the US Darts Masters?

The US Darts Masters is the fourth tournament of the World Series of Darts 2025.

Sixteen participants will play for the trophy for the seventh time. It is the only PDC tournament in the Americas.

The North American Championship will also be played as part of the US Darts Masters.

The eight participants from North America will play their own mini-tournament on Saturday afternoon (local time). The winner secures qualification for the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship (World Darts Championship).

What is the World Series of Darts?

The World Series of Darts is a series of tournaments organised by the PDC, in which, unlike Pro Tour events, players cannot qualify via the Order of Merit.

All tournaments are invitational events and therefore have no influence on the Order of Merit. The World Series of Darts Finals are held at the end of the seven tournaments.

What format will be used?

The 16 participants play a tournament tree in four rounds against each other. In the first round, one PDC representative meets one North American representative.

The first two rounds, i.e. up to and including the quarter-finals, are played in best of 11 legs.

In the semi-finals, two more legs are added before a best-of-15-legs final is played.

Who takes part?

Players are invited to all World Series of Darts events according to the same logic: the PDC awards eight wildcards directly to its players.

At the same time, the other eight starting places go to regional participants. These can also be awarded as part of a wildcard or linked to certain qualifications.

For the US Darts Masters, the decision was made to invite the four North American Tour Card Holders.

The winner of the Cross-Border Challenge 2025 and three qualifiers from the Championship Darts Corporation (CDC) Order of Merit will also be invited.

Who are the favourites?

In 2025, Stephen Bunting seems to be the man to beat at the World Series.

The Englishman has won two of the previous three tournaments and reached another final.

Top stars Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are also keen to prove themselves on the big stage again after a disappointing World Cup of Darts.

How does the seeding list work?

The four best players in the World Series Order of Merit are seeded. Players are awarded points based on their performance in World Series events in the current year.

Stephen Bunting (32 points) is seeded first, followed by Rob Cross (21) and Gerwyn Price (18). Luke Littler (11) gets the last place in the seeding list.

What do the players earn?

Every participant in the tournament will receive prize money, regardless of whether the player wins or loses his first round match. However, as the US Darts Masters is an invitational tournament, the prize money is not included in the PDC Order of Merit.

Winner: £30,000

Final: £16,000

Semi-final: £10,000

Quarter-final: £5,000

1st round: £1,750

Who has won the tournament in the past?

In six editions, only Michael van Gerwen (2017 and 2023) has won two tournaments.

The Dutchman, who also reached the final in 2022, won the inaugural edition and thus entered his name in the event's history books.

The defending champion is Rob Cross, who won last year's final against Gerwyn Price 8-6.

Jeff Smith was the first and last North American to reach the final in 2023 (losing 8-0 against Michael van Gerwen).

Where does the tournament take place?

The US Darts Masters has been held at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York City since 2020.

The Merhzwecharena is home to the New York Rangers and New York Knicks.

Legendary boxing matches between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier have also taken place here. The arena is also booked for concerts.
