21:00 CET - Welcome back to the last day of the Canadian Open, with two very interesting finals to look forward to over the coming hours.
First up at 00:00 CET, Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina takes on six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek in Toronto, with the former closing in on the world number one ranking.
Rybakina's performances against Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff were nothing short of irresistible, and she is back to the level that saw her reign supreme in Melbourne at the start of the year. She cannot take the No. 1 ranking with a triumph in Canada, but she is very likely to reach the summit over the coming weeks.
Her opponent, Swiatek, is into her first final of the year after enduring a really tough 2026. She hasn't been at her best this tournament, but has claimed some fine wins over Marta Kostyuk, Diana Shnaider and Elina Svitolina.
The pair have played each other 12 times, splitting the head-to-head 6-6. However, Rybakina has won their last two meetings. It should be a real cracker.
The men's final sees defending champion Ben Shelton clash with fellow American Brandon Nakashima, who is appearing in a maiden Masters 1000 final.
Shelton claimed his one and only Masters title in Canada last year, and has looked imperious in wins over Joao Fonseca, Jakub Mensik and Learner Tien.
Nakashima will be a tough opponent, though. The 25-year-old has shown real improvement over the last few months, and his big-serving, big-hitting game can cause players issues. He ended Rafa Jodar's run in the semi-finals with a supreme display, showcasing how good he can be.
Interestingly, Shelton leads the head-to-head 5-0, including triumphing in a thriller in Canada last year.
