"Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Watjen are missing today’s performance diagnostics. Both players have been excused due to talks with other clubs," Borussia Dortmund said on social media on Sunday.
The German club acknowledged that negotiations are advanced enough to allow them to skip the medical tests that usually take place before preseason, which neither of these two players is expected to take part in.
For Karim Adeyemi, it means the club is continuing its negotiations with FC Barcelona. With the player’s personal terms agreed weeks ago, only the deal between the clubs remained.
Barcelona have been able to leverage both the winger’s desire to join the club and the fact that his contract expires next summer. That’s why the offer finally accepted by Dortmund is 22 million euros fixed, plus 7 million in add-ons, as announced by Fabrizio Romano.
The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days.
