The Utah Jazz traded guard Collin Sexton (26) and a 2030 second-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday in exchange for centre Jusuf Nurkic (30).

Sexton averaged 18.4 points per game last season with the Jazz while posting a career-best 40.6% from three-point range.

Nurkic, on the other hand, was acquired by Charlotte in a trade with the Phoenix Suns. He finished the season averaging 8.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

The veteran centre is owed $19.3 million this season, while Sexton is due $18.9 million before both hit free agency in 2026.

Despite finishing with the worst record (17-65) in the NBA this past season, Utah is coming off a stellar draft after taking Ace Bailey (Rutgers), Walter Clayton Jr. (Florida), and John Tonje (Wisconsin) with their three picks.

And even though Bailey was set on holding out after blatantly showcasing that he did not want to play in Utah, things have seemed to smooth over with the Jazz's rookie star player.

As for the Hornets, they had themselves a nice draft after selecting Duke teammates Kon Knueppel and Sion James, along with Liam McNeeley (UCONN) and Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton).

Another team looking to truly start their rebuild after finishing 19-63 last season.
