Doncic exited late in the second quarter of the Lakers' win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, turning after tangling with a defender and grabbing the back of his left thigh.
He walked gingerly to the sideline and soon departed for the locker room, clearly frustrated.
Lakers coach JJ Redick said after the game that Doncic would have an MRI scan. He was optimistic the injury was not serious, but Doncic was listed as "out" on the injury report for Saturday's game.
Doncic leads the league in scoring with 33.4 points per game and is second in assists with 8.7.
"We need him," guard Austin Reaves said after the game. "He's our best player and the engine of a lot of the stuff that we do. Yeah, so, hopefully we get good news."
