If basketball were an individual sport, Luka Doncic would be a European champion, blindfolded. But unfortunately for him, four other teammates are alongside him. And as much as Klemen Prepelic and Gregor Hrovat supported him at times with 13 and 11 points, respectively, it wasn't enough.
So Slovenia lasted as long as they could while watching their star player try his best, scoring 39 points on 6/9 from two and a poor 5/16 from three, as well as 12/15 from the line. He also contributed 10 rebounds and seven assists in the 32:49 he was on the court.
But in the end, Doncic and Slovenia could no longer contain Wagner and Schroder, who finished with 23 and 20 points each.
And yet the game started well for the Balkans, taking a 32-21 lead in 10 minutes. In the second half, they began to see Germany making up ground.
After the break, Slovenia kept their shape and responded well, leading 74-70 after three quarters. But that was as far as they got, as the Germans surged to victory.
In the end, they moved into the Semi-Finals, setting up a date with surprise packages Finland.
