Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani (30) threw just one inning in his return to the mound during Monday's matchup against the San Diego Padres.

Ohtani gave up two hits and one run in his return while throwing 16 strikes on 28 pitches, one of which hit 100 mph on the radar gun.

The one run came off a sacrifice fly from Padres third baseman Manny Machado following a pair of singles from Luis Arraez and Fernando Tatis Jr.

Dodgers pitcher Anthony Banda would come in for Ohtani in the second inning, walking one and striking out two before Ben Casparius came in to finish the inning.

Ohtani has also gone 1-2 at the plate during Monday's matchup with a two-out RBI that tied the game, making up for his earned run on the mound.

The reigning National League MVP hasn't pitched since 2023 after undergoing a revision procedure from his previous Tommy John surgery in 2018.

The former pitcher has a lifetime 3.01 earned run average over five seasons on the bump, striking out 608 batters in 481.2 innings with opponents hitting just .200.

Ohtani is currently on pace for another possible MVP this year as he's currently slashing .299/.393/.644 at the time of this article.

His 25 home runs are the most in the NL and third most in all of baseball, just one behind Yankees' Aaron Judge and Mariners' Cal Raleigh

Ohtani is the only player in the NL with an OPS over 1.000 (1.037), which is second to Judge's 1.226.
