The Los Angeles Angels and pitcher Jose Quijada (29) agreed to a one-year, $1.075 million deal on Tuesday to avoid arbitration.

The deal also includes a $3.75 million club option for 2026, bringing back one of their better bullpen arms from last season for another possible two years.

Quijada only pitched in 22 games for the Angels last season after recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery. In his 19.1 innings with the Angels, he threw a 3.26 ERA and gave up 12 hits while walking 17 batters and striking out 24.

Despite the high walk rate, batters hit just .190 against Quijada last year. The lefty from Venezuela didn't give up a single run for 12 straight games in the middle of August.

Quijada was also part of the Venezuela team during the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
