Jake Burger (28) hit his first home run for the Texas Rangers on Thursday during their spring training matchup against the Seattle Mariners - but that's not the main story here.
The home run comes after his four-month-old daughter Penelope had successful open heart surgery on Monday.
Burger was wearing Penelope's hospital band during the two-run home run that lifted the Rangers to their 8-0 win.
His wife Ashlyn posted the incredible moment to her Instagram story.
The Rangers acquired Burger from the Marlins in a trade back in December 2024 in exchange for Echedry Vargas, Max Acosta, and Brayan Mendoza.
The veteran had a nice 2024 season with the Miami Marlins, hitting a .250 batting average with 29 home runs and 76 RBI.
Burger is set to make $800,000 this season and will be Arbitration 1 eligible in 2026.
Texas will be taking on the Chicago Cubs on Friday for their next spring training matchup.
